GE Jenbacher Type-6 Engine J612 GS - J616 GS - J620 GS - J624 GS

Continuously refined on GE Jenbacher’s extensive experience, the GE Jenbacher type 6 engines are reliable, advanced products serving the 1.8 to 4.4 MW power range. It’s 1,500 rpm engine speed results in a high power density and low installation costs. The type 6 pre-combustion chamber achieves maximum efficiency with low emissions. Proven design and optimised components enable a service life of 60,000 operating hours before the first major overhaul.

  • Highest levels of electrical efficiency
  • Highest levels reliability
  • Long development history
  • Robust design for a variety of gases
  • High output density at 1,500 rpm
  • LEANOX® lean burn control ensures minimal emissions
  • Pre-chamber combustion ensures maximum efficiency
  • Turbocharger bypass evens out extreme operating conditions
  • External dry exhaust manifold ensures long cylinder head life
  • Selective knocking control for each cylinder ensures optimal protection

GE has unveiled the world’s first 24-cylinder gas engine for commercial operation. With enough output to power 9,000 European households, the GE Jenbacher J624 GS represents a quantum leap in gas engine technology. Capping two years of development, this unique product adds another solution to our gas engine portfolio uses several fuel sources to protect our environment and builds on GE Jenbacher’s vast expertise.

  • Low installation and operating costs
  • Low specific fuel consumption
  • High power density
  • High heat recovery rate
  • 4MW electrical output
  • Lean burn, turbo charged, mixture cooled
  • 24-cylinders @ 1,500 rpm
  • Compact package design
  • Vibration decoupled system

J624 – Twin Turbo

GE’s new Jenbacher J624 is available as the world’s first 2-staged turbocharged gas engine. A new level of engineering excellence, the J624 offers you significant advantages, particularly in the area of multiple engine power plants for independent power generation and combined heat and power / cogeneration (CHP) solutions.

There are two areas where you will find the twin turbo J624 excels – large power generation project including multiple engines and CHP or cogeneration solutions, making the J624 more economically practical than gas engines with single-staged turbocharging.

  • Up to 90% total efficiency
  • Improved power density by 10%
  • Full output at high ambient temperatures and altitude
  • Low specific fuel consumption
  • Low installation and operating costs
  • 4.4 MW electrical output
  • 46.5% electrical efficiency
