Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Equipment has awarded Norway’s Aker Solutions a contract to supply a complete drilling equipment package for a new deep-water drill ship.

Aker said the contract was worth about Nkr540 million ($97 million), adding the drillship would be owned and operated by Vantage Drilling subsidiary Tungsten Explorer.

The equipment is scheduled to be delivered next year and will be the seventh drilling package for Vantage that Aker has been involved in
