Denman Secures Instrumentation Contract for Sullom Voe Power Station

Denman has once again been chosen to carry out maintenance work on the Sullom Voe Power Station in the Shetland Islands for Fortum O&M UK. This will be the second successive project that Denman has been used for its expertise in the field of instrumentation on the power station, and highlights the standard of work carried out on the previous occasion in 2010.

Denman will be sending a team of instrument technicians to the site from the end of June with the project expected to last until the end of the year. The work involves maintenance of gas turbines and boilers during outages, and other plant as required. The 100MW plant has four 25MW General Electric Frame 5 gas turbines and is part of a CHP.

This repeat business is testament to the service Denman provides and the company hopes that this will be a long-lasting relationship between Denman and Fortum. Paul Denman, managing director, said: "Having supplied Fortum with our services last year we had hoped that the quality of our work was enough to ensure, should they need instrumentation or commissioning support again, they would think of Denman. Our aim is to ensure our clients' projects run smoothly and they are happy with the quality of work provided, therefore we are delighted that Fortum O&M UK have decided to use our services again."
