Natural Gas Powered Commercial Electrical Generation from GE GE's Jenbacher this morning announced the development of an all-new, larger, power-generation gasoline engine powered MGSet, the J920. With an "[i]electrical efficiency[b]" of 48.7 percent as measured at the MGSet's output terminals and a total output of 9.51 megawatts (MW) at 50Hz, the new J920 engine is the most efficient in its class and it extends GE's technical leadership in power generation gas engines. The J920 gas engine provides enough energy for 18,500 average European households. It was introduced at a ceremony held today at GE's facility in Jenbach, Austria. The new, power-dense engine is highly attractive from both a customer and environmental perspective as its higher efficiency not only reduces lifecycle costs due to lower fuel consumption, but also simultaneously cuts greenhouse gas emissions. In comparison with commercially available gas engines in the same output range, the operation of one J920 can prevent about 1,500 Tons of CO2 emissions annually. This corresponds with the emissions from about 800 average European cars. In the same period, fuel savings of more than $300,000 USD can be achieved due to lower fuel consumption. The J920 is especially suitable for decentralized, independent power supply in remote, hot or high-altitude regions for use in combined heat and power applications and the stabilization of power grids. The prototype of the engine has been undergoing successful testing on a purpose-built test bench at GE's Jenbacher manufacturing facilities in Austria since late summer. . The main equipment will be dismantled and transported from existing Diesel Power Plant. Said Power Plant was established on BOO (Built, Operate and Own) basis and started to commercial operation in March 2002. Then, it has been operated at full load for approximately 1 year. After then the official Electricity Generation Authority directed Client to operate plant at reduced generation capacity. At this moment the Diesel Power Plant is fully operational in good condition and when necessary it can be visited upon request. Technical Specifications in the following sections of this Proposal provides the PURCHASER with basic technical data and information required for evaluation of plant's technical features. The proposed type of power plant was designed for base load application for utilizing HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) as the main fuel with LFO (Light Fuel Oil) for cold start-up and before maintenance work.
