From Natural Gas To Biogas

All installations running on natural gasses of the type Cat G3508, G3512 and G3516 can with great advantages be converted into running on biogas.

Biogas is produced through the natural anaerobic decomposition or fermentation of organic waste. In a typical biogas farm, an organic fertilizer tank is used to store the manure generated by the livestock.

Instead of releasing the methane generated by the decomposition of this manure into the atmosphere, it can be extracted and used to fuel a gas engine to produce electricity.

Biogas is good for the environment because it is Co2 neutral making it one great renewable resource compared to fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gasses.

The concern for the anthropogenic release of methane into the environment and methane’s potential for global warming continues to draw international attention. Many industries are looking for ways to safely and economically mitigate the release of methane-based gasses. Generating power from sustainable resources such as biogas is a mature and proven technology that is also environmentally responsible.
