Termosolar Alcazar, a joint venture between SolarReserve and Preneal, has secured a contract from the Spanish Government to build a 50MW solar thermal plant in Alcazar de San Juan, Spain.
The plant will be equipped with SolarReserves molten salt solar power tower technology, developed by Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne.
The technology features integrated energy storage,which ensures continuous power supply at anytime.
The plant is expected to generate electricity, which will be sufficient to power 70,000 homes.
Construction of the Termosolar Alcazar plant will help Spain in achieving the EU Climate & Energy objectives.
